Sustainable wine production is gaining importance in the wine industry. While transparent recording, reduction, and compensation of emissions is not yet mandatory, the wine industry is increasingly taking initiatives in climate protection. Climate change has a direct effect on viniculture as production conditions shift with global climate change. In addition, critical consumers are paying more and more attention to environmentally friendly food production. At ClimatePartner, we professionally collaborate with relevant stakeholders within the wine industry as well as environmental organizations in order to assist our customers in developing and implementing a sustainable strategy. We support transparent documentation of CO2 emissions, climate-neutral production, and continued implementation of mitigation measures.
Aside from the obvious environmental benefits, a suitable climate protection strategy also serves as a competitive advantage in a difficult market environment. Some 30 wineries across the globe rely on our expertise in climate protection. At ClimatePartner we calculate CO2 emissions resulting along the product life cycle in order to estimate the potential for continuous emissions reduction. Beyond that, we offset unavoidable emissions with support of approved climate protection projects and thus neutralize the negative consequences of wine production. |
