ClimatePartner expands presence in Europe with Spain office opening

April 12, 2022

As corporates across Europe get increasingly involved with climate action, ClimatePartner enters the Spanish market with its first office in Spain.

ClimatePartner is further expanding its strong European market presence by opening its first office in Barcelona, Spain.

The leading solution provider for corporate climate action brings over 15 years of experience to companies in Spain. While the consequences of climate change, including rising sea levels and draughts, are already highly visible in Spain, businesses are increasingly seeing the need to activate climate action. ClimatePartner helps its customers calculate and reduce carbon emissions as well as offset unabated emissions.

ClimatePartner Spain is headed by Tom Weseloh, who has significant experience in the fields of climate action and sustainability from his former roles as Sustainability Officer at Mediamarkt and Managing Director at a start-up focused on developing Soil Organic Carbon (SOC). The office opening in Barcelona builds on existing cooperations with Spanish partners of established brands, including printing specialist Canon and fashion chain C&A. It follows the France opening in January and is the fifth international ClimatePartner opening within the last year.

Today ClimatePartner works together with more than 5,000 organisations in over 60 countries, enabling them to drive climate action for their business, products or services through calculation, reduction and offsetting of carbon emissions. As part of its holistic approach towards corporate climate action, ClimatePartner further supports its customers communicate their climate action activities.

The internationally known “carbon neutral” label by ClimatePartner including the ID-tracking is already established in many European markets and will also bring clarity and orientation to Spanish consumers. Through its ID tracking technology, it provides information on the organisation's climate action activities. This includes information on how carbon neutrality of a product or service was achieved as well as details on the chosen carbon offset projects and the exact amount of CO2-equivalent emissions offset.

Moritz Lehmkuhl, CEO and founder of ClimatePartner, comments: “As demands for sustainable products are growing in the Spanish market, businesses are increasingly in need for expert guidance on how to make their business activities more sustainable. This is where ClimatePartner can enable companies take the right steps to reduce their carbon footprint and make a considerable contribution towards achieving the goal of keeping global warming below the 1.5 °C mark. We are delighted to be able to now meet this demand in Spain with our proven solutions, combined with Tom’s experience in the field.”
