Sustainability platform for the United Nations’ 'Act Now’ campaign, AWorld, embarks on its carbon neutral journey
January 26, 2022ClimatePartner is delighted to support AWorld, the chosen sustainability platform of the United Nations (UN) ACT NOW campaign, on their path to carbon neutrality.
The startup, that became a B Corp in December of last year, was appointed by the UN to be the chosen sustainability solution provider as part of the ACT NOW campaign, a UN initiative that aims to encourage individual action on climate change and sustainability.
In 2020, AWorld launched a mobile app that helps individuals take climate action by merging educational content with gamification. The app gives practical guidance on leading a more sustainable lifestyle, in line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the United Nations 2030 agenda as well as the simple principle that everyone’s choices and habits have an impact on the wellbeing of our planet. Its functionalities include interactive learning modules, impact measurement and easy access to a community of like-minded people.
AWorld further offers a microservices platform that allows businesses to encourage their clients take sustainable actions through services such as reward programmes.
As part of their collaboration with ClimatePartner, AWorld does not only aim to understand their own corporate carbon footprint and become carbon neutral as a business, but further evolve their app and business offering to help companies further engage, educate and reduce their stakeholders footprint.
Alessandro Armillotta, Co-Founder and CEO of AWorld, describes their vision as follows: “At AWorld, our goal is to help people grow awareness on the climate crisis, learn about tangible and impactful lifestyle sustainable actions as well as to provide an easy tool to measure and reduce their impact on the environment. We are excited to now join forces with ClimatePartner and tap into their expertise in climate action solutions to further pursue this goal.”
