Climate projects with impact
The projects in our portfolio support biodiversity, infrastructure, and social development worldwide.

With over 20 years of experience, strong relationships with local partners, and rigorous quality standards, we help you invest in projects that drive real impact.
Flexibility in climate project financing
Verified climate projects
Our portfolio includes certified climate projects based on standards such as the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and the Gold Standard (GS). All projects are regularly reviewed by independent third parties. Beyond reducing CO₂, these projects create jobs, improve healthcare access, and support local communities.
Carbon reduction
Regional commitments
Looking to support ecosystems and biodiversity in your region? ClimatePartner offers European projects focused on peatland restoration, reforestation, and biodiversity. You choose to reduce carbon emissions through certified international projects while supporting local initiatives, or contribute directly to nature-based projects in Europe to strengthen regional biodiversity.
Biodiversity projects
How climate projects work | |
---|---|
Carbon avoidance | Prevent GHG emissions from entering the atmosphere.
→ Forest protection (REDD+) → Improved forest management (IFM) |
Carbon reduction | Reduce the amount of GHG emissions generated by an activity.
→ Renewable energy (wind, solar, hydro) → Improved cookstoves |
Carbon removal | Remove carbon from the atmosphere and store it in various forms, depending on the project technology.
→ Nature-based solutions (afforestation, blue carbon) → Technical solutions (direct air capture, enhanced rock weathering) |

Highlights from our project portfolio

Tree planting, Germany
Forests are increasingly affected by climate change: only one in five trees are considered healthy. This project links certified climate action with tree planting in Germany, creating more resilient mixed woodlands.

Biochar, Ghana
In Ghana, crop residues are often burned, releasing carbon emissions. This project converts them into biochar—a natural carbon sink. When applied to fields, it enhances soil health and increases agricultural productivity.

Reforestation, South Africa
The Eastern Cape has experienced severe land degradation, reducing native thicket ecosystems. This project restores the landscape by planting spekboom, enhancing soil, water balance, and biodiversity.

Ocean protection, worldwide
The oceans are among the largest carbon sinks, absorbing around 30 percent of human-made CO₂ emissions. This project prevents plastic pollution, safeguards marine ecosystems, and strengthens the resilience of local communities.

"We are continuously working on measures to further reduce our emissions. However, many initiatives take time to implement. We don’t want to waste time, therefore, we finance a selection of climate projects according to the amount of our remaining emissions."
