At the end of January, our colleague Patricia Kastner visited a hydropower plant in Brazil. This plant saves around 20,000 tons of CO₂ each year and provides 40,000 people with emission-free power. This carbon offset project is exclusively funded by one of our customers; in other words, no other company can buy certificates from this project. 
In addition to the exclusive projects we realise for a certain customer, our portfolio also includes projects that we helped develop and offer exclusively: water purification in Madagascar and Odisha (India), hydroelectric power in the Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, biomass in Soacha (Colombia), and solar energy in Namibia.

We’ve responded to the continuously growing demand for such exclusive projects by adding three new colleagues to our Carbon Offset team: 

With his international background, Robin Stoffers brings to the table specific knowledge on carbon offset projects. He’ll be the first point of contact when it comes to these projects.

Yen-Ju Ho strengthens our team with years of experience in green electricity certificates and will be responsible for the Chinese and Taiwanese markets.

Bhai Raja Maharjan has 15 years of experience in the development and certification of carbon offset projects, having to date certified 75 carbon offset projects in 20 countries as an independent auditor'. Among other projects, he helped launch the WWF Nepal Gold Standard Biogas Voluntary Emission Reduction (VER) project.
