Climate action in organisational consulting – osb international

October 31, 2025

osb international (osb-i) is a systemic organisational consulting firm with offices in Vienna, Hamburg, and Berlin. It supports companies, organisations, and executives in complex change processes, from strategy development and leadership to change management and organisational design.

The Challenge: Reducing emissions in everyday consulting

Travel is an essential part of everyday consulting at osb-i and the largest source of emissions. Without regulatory obligations to do so, osb-i started taking responsibility and reduce its greenhouse gas emissions. The challenge was to implement climate action step by step without restricting close cooperation with clients.

The Solution: Creating a climate action roadmap

Together with ClimatePartner, a roadmap was developed that includes calculating osb-I's Corporate Carbon Footprint, setting reduction measures, and supporting a clean drinking water climate project in Laos.

Since 2022, osb-i has been pursuing the goal of reducing emissions per working day by 27.5% by 2030. To achieve this, the company has focused on, among other things:

  • Taking fewer flights and car trips, more public transport
  • Switching to electric cars and renewable electricity
  • Focusing on regional acquisition and building a strong national consultancy network
  • Using refurbished IT equipment

ClimatePartner certified company

In addition to emissions reduction at the company, osb-i supports climate projects equivalent to its carbon footprint. In 2023, it received ClimatePartner certification for the first time, which makes its commitment traceable and creates transparency with a unique climate-ID.

But even more importantly, the attitude of its employees has changed. There is now greater clarity, stronger commitment, and a noticeable sense of pride within the team.

"We don't just want to compensate, we want to take responsibility and implement reduction measures in our organisation. With ClimatePartner, we have a competent and reliable partner at our side."
