How Anker made 150 products Climate Pledge Friendly ready in just weeks

October 1, 2025

Anker Innovations Technology is a global leader in consumer electronics, best known for its top-selling brands: Anker (charging devices), Soundcore (audio), Nebula (projectors), and Eufy (smart home). With a wide-ranging product portfolio and growing expectations from retailers like Amazon, Anker set out to scale its climate action quickly and credibly.

The challenge: Climate action across a vast product portfolio

With hundreds of SKUs across multiple brands, Anker faced the challenge of embedding climate action into a complex, fast-paced consumer goods business. The company aimed to certify 100 products in just a few weeks, balancing internal timelines with external requirements from retail partners. To succeed, Anker needed a solution with speed, transparency, and technical integrity.

The solution: Product carbon footprints with local support

Since 2023, Anker has worked with ClimatePartner to calculate, reduce and take responsibility for the carbon footprint of its products. ClimatePartner has calculated cradle-to-grave footprints for nearly 150 products, following the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. These assessments identified emissions hotspots and enabled certification under the ClimatePartner certified label.

To accelerate the process, ClimatePartner’s local agent “Goinggreen”  in China worked directly with Anker’s supplier teams to streamline data collection and improve communication. This combination of localized support and standardized methodology allowed Anker to certify products in just a few weeks,  enhancing carbon transparency and qualifying them for Amazon’s Climate Pledge Friendly badge.

The outcomes: Targeted reductions based on emission data

Insights from the product carbon footprints revealed that excessive packaging volumes were a major contributor to emissions. Anker addressed this, along with other key areas, through a targeted reduction strategy:

  • Redesigned packaging to eliminate over 150 tons of plastic waste, with 80% of products now using paperboard or pulp trays.
  • Improved shipping efficiency up to 150% through ultra-compact packaging.
  • Committed to plastic-free packaging for all new products by 2027, starting with mobile accessories in 2025.
  • Invested in renewable energy innovation to reduce household reliance on fossil fuels.

Transparent communication and global impact

To address unabated emissions, Anker financed climate projects equivalent to more than 81,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide, supporting initiatives with both social and environmental impact. These certified projects include afforestation, biomass, and methane utilization in China, where much of Anker’s manufacturing occurs. Additional projects support improved cookstoves in India and forest protection in Peru.

Each certified product label links to a dedicated climate-ID page that shares emissions data, project details, and Anker’s reduction strategy. Beyond Amazon visibility, Anker uses its sustainability hub to strengthen brand trust, differentiate in a crowded market, and turn climate action into long-term business value.
