What is an EcoVadis rating?
An EcoVadis rating measures how well a company manages sustainability. It's a third-party assessment that scores organisations from 0–100 across four pillars: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
Based on the score, companies receive a medal:

The process is evidence-based. Companies complete an industry-specific questionnaire and must support every claim with documentation (policies, certifications, audit reports, KPI data, etc.). EcoVadis analysts verify the responses and cross-reference them with external sources such as NGOs, trade unions, and compliance databases.
Over 150,000 companies from 250+ industries in 185+ countries have been rated, making EcoVadis one of the most widely used sustainability benchmarks in global supply chains. An additional 3 million companies have been screened.
Why does an EcoVadis rating matter?
Buyers, investors, and regulators use EcoVadis ratings to evaluate trading partners. A strong score can open access to new supply chains, reduce ESG risks, and demonstrate sustainability management that goes beyond legal compliance.
In short: your EcoVadis rating shapes how partners and customers perceive your business.
